At a time when Pakistan was carrying out Uri attack, the Chinese Army intruded in Anjaw of Arunachal Pradesh. A place called ‘Hadigrah Pass’, the end point of border in Indian territory has been intruded by PLA and reached up to 45 Km point at Plum inside the Indian territory where they have built up a temporary camp.Sources said that earlier the Indian Army had Long Range Patrolling (LRP) on September 5 which lasted up to Theneya some 52 km from Chaglagam where unexpectedly the Indian Amy had a face-off with Chinese Army between Theneya and Plum-Plum point on September 9. At Kapapu the Chinese Army has built up Maul track, log and wooden bridge etc and drive out the Indian Army up to Najong 23 kms point near Chaglagam. To defuse the intrusion and tension inside the Indian Territory, a Flag Meeting was held on September 14 at Damai in China some three kms away from the LAC between PLA and Indian Army unfortunately PLA was reluctant to retreat from the Indian Territory claiming their stand strong. However, one more meeting is scheduled to be held on October 1 to resolve the illegal intrusion, disclosed high level sources.

Three major political parties have made an agreement in principle regarding the restructuring of local bodies.
A meeting of the major three parties held at official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar forged the consensus in this regard. The meeting was held at the call of PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday evening.

The meeting reviewed the activities of the Local Body Restructuring Commission (LBRC), and agreed to urge the LBRC to restructure the local bodies based on the number and border of the old units, said Chief Political Advisor to Prime Minister, Chankrapani Khanal.
“Agreement is made in principle to determine the number and border of the local bodies based on the structure of the past local units,” added Mr Khanal.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman Bhim Bahadur Rawal said that consensus was forged among three parties regarding the structure of local bodies.
Rawal said, “We put our party’s views. We told that the CPN (UML) will be flexible if the government is in favour of holding local bodies election soon. Prime Minister has shown interest on holding the election soon, which we have taken positively.”

Nepal Airlines flight from Delhi makes emergency landing in TIA

A (NAC) Nepal Airlines jet carrying 163 people on board from New Delhi on Monday made an emergency landing at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu after the aircraft emitted smoke at 12,500 feet. The crew detected smoke in the Airbus A320-220 named Lumbini as it entered Nepal's airspace this afternoon, officials said. The pilots sought permission with the airport's air traffic control tower for an emergency landing of the flight 9N-AKX after the smoke was detected while they were flying at 12,500 feet. The smoke alarm went off at the cockpit, local media reports said.

Lawmakers on Sunday said there was no need to impeach Chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Lokman Singh Karki. Speaking at an interaction in the Capital today, the lawmakers said a proposal of public importance filed at the House demanding discussion on accusations against Karki could not lead the issue to the impeachment motion. Also. lawmaker Ram Narayan Bidari said, “There is no essence and need of the impeachment. It is just a cheap propaganda.” “It is not necessary, legally, politically and constitutionally.” Mr. Lok Maan Singh Karki is the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Nepal. According to the provision of the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2007, he has been appointed by the President in the recommendation of the Constitutional Council. Mr. Karki took office on May 8, 2013 for the tenure of six years.

Search for missing ex-Home Minister continues

The search for the missing former Home Minister, Madhav Prasad Ghimire, along with his two brothers resumed this morning at Dahrechowk VDC –3, Ghoptebhir along the Prithvi Highway, where a jeep they were travelling in fell into the Trishuli river below on Sunday evening. Chief District Office, Binod Prakash Singh, said the search had continued until 1:30 am and resumed at 5:30 am again. He said hook anchor and magnets were being used to search for the missing jeep and the missing persons but without any results as yet. A lighting tower has been kept in constant use through help of a generator. CDO Singh said a Nepal Army (NA) Disaster Management battalion team has also been mobilized to help in the rescue effort. The NA personnel along with Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been continuing their search at the site of the incident. The Armed Police Disaster Management Training Centre team has also been helping in the search for the missing former Home Minister and his family members. The search is continuing despite the murky river condition and high current. The former Home Minister along with his brothers Prakash and Mohan Ghimire are still unaccounted for while the dead bodies of their mother, Chaitanya Kumar Ghimire, 80, security guard Armed Police Sub Inspector, Ram Chandra Karki, and nephew, Narayan Kafle, have been recovered. The Scorpio jeep (Ba 9 Cha 1531) en route to Kathmandu from Muktinath had plunged around 150 metres downhill into the raging river. The jeep driver police head constable, Bishnu Rai, was injured in the mishap. He is receiving treatment at the College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur. RSS

Education thus is an essential prerequisite of modernization. Modern education is exoteric, open and liberal. The world-view is scientific-rational; the theme consists of freedom, equality, humanism and denial of faith in dogma and superstitions. The course contents are rationalistic and in tune with the needs of the present-day society.

Science and technology, grammar and literature, social philosophy, history and culture, geography and ecology, agriculture and horticulture comprise the vast range of subjects which are taught in schools, colleges and universities.

The modern education lays emphasis on the subjects like freedom, nationality, law, human rights, democracy and scientific world view. The other parts of education are the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, which are often organized for total personality development of a student.

JEEP CARRYING EX HOME MINISTER GHIMIRE TUMBLES INTO TRISHULI

Ex Home Minister for Home Affairs and Foreign Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire and two others have gone missing after his car plunged into Trishuli River on Sunday. Three persons* were killed in the mishap. Police said that Ghimire’s mother Chaitanya Kumari, Sub Inspector Ram Chandra Karki and Narayan Prasad Kafle were killed in the mishap, adding that former Minister Ghimire, Mohan Ghimire and Prakash Ghimire are still missing. According to Mugling Police, the car, Ba 9 Cha 1531, plunged into Trishuli River at Darechok-3, Ghoptebhir in Chitwan district at around 4:45 pm. Some seven persons were travelling in the car. They were returning to Kathmandu from Muktinath.

From 1999 to 2001, he served as General Counsel of the Army, where he acted as the top legal officer to the Department of the Army. From 1997 until 1999, he served as Chief Counsel to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy during the tenure of Barry McCaffrey as Drug Czar. Mr. Blanchard’s other government experience includes two terms as a member of the Arizona State Senate; work as an Associate Independent Counsel in the Office of James C. McKay; and law clerk for D.C. Circuit Judge Harry Edwards as well as U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. Trishuli jeep fall: 3 killed, ex-minister Madhav Ghimire among 3 others missing

CHITWAN: A jeep carrying seven persons including former Minister for Home Affairs Madhav Ghimire has gone missing in the Trishuli River on Sunday afternoon.

Whereas three bodies were recovered, three including Ghimire are still missing. The car driver Bishnu Rai is rescued injured.

The deceased are Ghimire’s mother Chaitya Kumari Ghimire (80), a relative Narayan Kafle and Ghimire’s bodyguard Armed Police Force ASI Ram Chandra Karki, informed Chief District Officer Binod Prakash Singh.

One of the missing is Madhav Ghimire’s younger brother Prakash Mohan Ghimire. The third missing is yet to be identified.

Police said the Scorpio SUV (Ba 9 Cha 1531) had plunged into the mighty river from the Prithvi Highway at Ghoptebhir, Darechok-3 of Chitwan district at around 4 pm today.

The world’s largest radio telescope began searching for signals from stars and galaxies and, perhaps, extraterrestrial life Sunday in a project demonstrating China’s rising ambitions in space and its pursuit of international scientific prestige.

Beijing has poured billions into such ambitious scientific projects as well as its military-backed space program, which saw the launch of China’s second space station earlier this month.

Measuring 500 metres in diameter, the radio telescope is nestled in a natural basin within a stunning landscape of lush green karst formations in southern Guizhou province. It took five years and $180 million to complete and surpasses that of the 300-metre Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, a dish used in research on stars that led to a Nobel Prize.

The official Xinhua News Agency said hundreds of astronomers and enthusiasts watched the launch of the Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical Telescope, or FAST, in the county of Pingtang.

Researchers quoted by state media said FAST would search for gravitational waves, detect radio emissions from stars and galaxies and listen for signs of intelligent extraterrestrial life.

“The ultimate goal of FAST is to discover the laws of the development of the universe,” Qian Lei, an associate researcher with the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, told state broadcaster CCTV.

“In theory, if there is civilization in outer space, the radio signal it sends will be similar to the signal we can receive when a pulsar (spinning neutron star) is approaching us,” Qian said.

Trishuli jeep fall: 3 killed, ex-minister Madhav Ghimire among 3 others missing -

A jeep carrying seven persons including former Minister for Home Affairs Madhav Ghimire has gone missing in the Trishuli River on Sunday afternoon.Whereas three bodies were recovered, three including Ghimire are still missing. The car driver Bishnu Rai is rescued injured.The deceased are Ghimire’s mother Chaitya Kumari Ghimire (80), a relative Narayan Kafle and Ghimire’s bodyguard Armed Police Force ASI Ram Chandra Karki, informed Chief District Officer Binod Prakash Singh.Two missing are Madhav Ghimire’s younger brothers Prakash and Mohan, according to police.Police said the Scorpio SUV (Ba 9 Cha 1531) had plunged into the mighty river from the Prithvi Highway at Ghoptebhir, Darechok-3 of Chitwan district at around 4 pm today.It has been learned that they were returning to Kathmandu from Muktinath of Mustang via Pokhara of Kaski.Search for the missing in underway, according to CDO Singh.

A meeting of the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday passed with a majority the proposal that the House consider the Bill related to Nepal Medical Education Bill 2073 BS. Minister for Education Dhaniram Poudel presented the bill in the meeting opining that it was inevitable to make the medical education well-managed and professional. Similarly, the meeting has unanimously passed the proposals on Labour Bill 2072 BS and Social Security Bill 2072 BS to send them to the concerned committees for clause wise discussions. These bills were presented by Minister for Labour and Employment Surya Man Gurung.

Ex-minister Ghimire goes missing as car plunges into Trishuli River, 3 killed

Former Minister for Home Affairs and Foreign Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire and two others have gone missing after his car plunged into Trishuli River on Sunday. Three persons* were killed in the mishap.Police said that Ghimire’s mother Chaitanya Kumari, Sub Inspector Ram Chandra Karki and Narayan Prasad Kafle were killed in the mishap, adding that former Minister Ghimire, Mohan Ghimire and Prakash Ghimire are still missing.According to Mugling Police, the car, Ba 9 Cha 1531, plunged into Trishuli River at Darechok-3, Ghoptebhir in Chitwan district at around 4:45 pm.Some seven persons were travelling in the car. They were returning to Kathmandu from Muktinath.Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Binod Prakash Singh told Republica Online that former minister Ghimire was himself driving the car.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today returned home after completing his four-day state visit to India. PM Dahal, who led a delegation including his spouse Sita, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management Ramesh Lekhak, stayed at the Rastrapati Bhawan in New Delhi during his visit. During his visit, the Prime Minister met and held meetings with senior political leaders and office-bearers including President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Modi. During the meetings, PM Dahal held consultations with them on working for advancing mutual benefit and interest between Nepal and India.
